Scholarships: Financing Your Studies Abroad

You have been accepted to study abroad at your dream university and are now wondering how to organize the funds for your stay? For many students, this topic is particularly important. In the following, we have summarized the most important information on available funding.
Scholarships for All Subject Areas
The TUM Global & Alumni Office offers numerous scholarships to students from all subject areas of the TUM School of Computation, Information and Technology. These facilitate study visits and internships, both within Europe and worldwide. In addition, it provides you with all the important information on scholarships from third parties.
Scholarships for the Subject Area Electrical and Computer Engineering
Students in the subject area of Electrical and Computer Engineering have the opportunity to apply for one or more of the following foundation scholarships:
- Walter Gademann Foundation
- Heinrich and Lotte Mühlfenzl Foundation
- Lothar and Sigrid Rohde Foundation
The foundations primarily support stays abroad outside Europe for a maximum of six months. The following requirements and deadlines apply to all three scholarships:

- Short description of the planned stay abroad (one A4 page max.) including details on academic content, duration, location, and (personal) goals
- Short curriculum vitae including details on education and work experience
- Description of extracurricular activities in the community and/or at university
- Latest examination records
- Cost report including details regarding any additional funding (e.g., BAföG (Federal Law on Support in Education), scholarships, parental support, loans, etc.)
- Letter of Commitment stating that the applicant will submit a short report within one month of returning from abroad and gives their consent to the processing of their data
