CIT Supervisory Award for Antonia Wachter-Zeh
Doctorate, Awards |

With this prize, the CIT doctoral representatives honor her extraordinary commitment to her doctoral candidates.
CIT Supervisory Award 2025
The CIT Supervisory Award is presented annually to one individual nominated by doctoral candidates. From all proposals received, the doctoral representatives select several finalists and conduct interviews with them and their PhD students. Based on these discussions, the representatives chose Antonia Wachter-Zeh, Professor of Coding and Cryptography at CIT.
“Through flexible working hours, a family-friendly attitude, scientific integrity in practice and an open feedback culture, Antonia Wachter-Zeh sets standards for modern, responsible and inspiring doctoral supervision,” says Yannick Stade from the TUM Graduate Council.
Inspiration, Support and Global Perspectives in Doctoral Supervision
Right from the start of the doctoral project, Wachter-Zeh provides clear guidance while at the same time allowing sufficient freedom for individual research interests. She offers timely, constructive feedback and is reliably available through regular meetings. In addition, she has the remarkable ability to create a research environment that is both professionally supportive and deeply inspiring.
Another focus of her work is on cross-border networking: She actively promotes international collaborations, invites external researchers to talks and workshops, and thereby provides her team with valuable insights into various scientific communities. Beyond her own group, Wachter-Zeh is engaged in broader activities within TUM – from supporting internal professional development programs to strengthening team cohesion through social activities.
