CIT Graduation Ceremony for Bachelor's and Master's 2026

Under the motto “our time to shine,” close to 3,000 graduates and guests celebrated the completion of their studies in beautiful weather on the Garching research campus. Dean Hans-Joachim Bungartz opened each ceremony in the afternoon in the Magistrale of the MI Building. He was pleased to note that, in the academic year now coming to a close, a record number of students had once again successfully completed their bachelor's and master's degree programs at the School. Demand for a place to study Mathematics, Informatics, or Electrical and Computer Engineering at TUM remains strong, despite all predictions to the contrary. He also recognized the commitment of international students, who now make up almost 50 percent of CIT's student body. In closing, the Dean congratulated all graduates on their outstanding achievements and also thanked their families and friends for their support.

International Diversity and Moving into the Next Phase

TUM Vice President Gerhard Kramer congratulated the graduates on successfully completing their degrees and emphasized how proud TUM is of its high proportion of international students. He pointed out that technological progress and innovation would be impossible without the creativity, confidence, courage, and sense of responsibility of the graduates now entering a new phase of their lives.

In the subsequent individual ceremonies for the subject areas Electrical and Computer Engineering, Informatics, and Mathematics, the respective Academic Program Directors welcomed the graduates and personally bid farewell with a handshake. Award ceremonies for outstanding academic achievements and graduate speeches rounded off the two-hour program in the lecture halls before guests were invited to a sparkling wine reception in the festively decorated Magistrale.

Before and after the official part of the event, graduates made use of the popular photo walls to take commemorative pictures with family and friends. DJane Ladydee created a relaxed atmosphere at the get-together.
