Sustainability in Education
True sustainability begins with an awareness and understanding of the root causes of environmental issues and social injustice. At CIT, we sensitize students to these challenges through targeted educational programs. From identifying critical conditions to developing concrete mitigation strategies, we foster a continuous dialogue to find collective answers to the pressing questions of our time.
Digital Changemaker Course
In this course, students acquire practical soft skills while forward-mindedly analyzing real-world, technology-driven challenges and building valuable industry connections. Working in small groups, they will develop a tailored solution to a specific corporate problem within 12 weeks. An excellent solution is characterized not only by its economic feasibility and practical applicability but also by its careful consideration and reflection of ethical aspects.
Ethics for Nerds
This course teaches students to critically assess the societal impacts of information and communication technology inventions. Students question new and established technologies – a balancing act between progress and the associated risks for individuals, society, and politics.
Technical Acoustics and Noise Abatement
This course provides students with practical tools to independently analyze acoustic problems. Students learn the fundamentals of engineering acoustics and noise control. Upon completion of the course, they will be able to conduct measurements, calculate noise insulation measures, and evaluate noise control situations in accordance with current standards and legal limits. In this way, the course bridges the gap between physical calculation, measurement practice, and legal assessment.
