Alumni Associations at CIT

The alumni associations of the TUM School of Computation, Information and Technology (CIT) foster exchange among alumni, students, and researchers long after graduation. Through EIKON e.V. for Electrical Engineering and Information Technology, the Hurwitz Society for Mathematics, and the FiMaTUM Alumni Club for Financial Mathematics, they offer professional networks, events, mentoring, and a wide range of opportunities for professional and personal networking.

A new model for vibrotactile signals: Lars Nockenberg of the Technical University of Munich (TUM) and his co-authors received the Best Student Paper Award at the EuroHaptics Conference 2026 for their paper “Towards a Vibrotactile Perceptual Model Accounting for Spatial Masking.”

Lukas Burgholzer Receives Bavaria's 2026 Hightech Young Talent Award

The Bavarian State Ministry of Science and the Arts has awarded the 2026 Hightech Young Talent Award to Lukas Burgholzer, a postdoctoral researcher at the TUM School of Computation, Information and Technology, for his groundbreaking contributions to software development for quantum computers.

EURO Award for Martin Bichler and Team

At the 24th Conference of the International Federation of Operational Research Societies (IFORS 2026) from July 12 to 17 in Vienna, Martin Bichler accepted the award on behalf of his team of authors. The paper won in the “Innovative Applications of Operational Research” category.
