Integrated research and degree programs designed for the future: The TUM School of Computation, Information and Technology (CIT) at the Technical University of Munich (TUM) unites the disciplines of Mathematics, Informatics, and Electrical and Computer Engineering. The research and teaching activities range from theoretical knowledge to its application. In line with our mission statement, we focus across disciplines on the major challenges of our time, such as the digital transformation. At the same time, our expertise remains firmly embedded in our core disciplines.

Awards |

The International Association for Urban Climate has honored Professor Jia Chen from the TUM School of Computation, Information and Technology (CIT) for her excellent research on monitoring and measuring greenhouse gases in urban areas.

Research, Doctorate |

The German Research Foundation (DFG) is funding the research training group “METEOR”. Researchers from the TUM School of Computation, Information and Technology at the Technical University of Munich (TUM) and Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität (LMU) are combining machine learning and control theory.

Research, Awards |

Six researchers at TUM receive Proof of Concept Grants from the European Research Council – for innovative approaches in cloud computing, robotics, cancer medicine, drug development, and astrophysics. Four of the funded professors are from our School.

Research |

Under the leadership of TUM Professor Tobias Vogl, the quantum satellite QUICK³ has launched into space. The mission is testing key technologies for the secure communication of the future - using real quantum physics in orbit. Initial results are expected by the end of 2025.

The European Research Council (ERC) has awarded Advanced Grants to two professors at the TUM School of Computation, Information and Technology (CIT): Martin Bichler for his project ELUD on equilibrium algorithms and Massimo Fornasier for NEITALG on optimization algorithms.
