Graduation Ceremony 2025
Studies, School |

Under the motto “our time to shine”, close to 3,000 graduates and guests celebrated their graduation in bright sunshine on the Garching research campus. Dean Hans-Joachim Bungartz opened the ceremony in the afternoon on the square in front of the mathematics-informatics-building. He expressed his delight that, despite the cancellation of the regular 2025 high school graduating class, the new tuition fees, and the closure of the bachelor's program in Games Engineering, applications for CIT programs had increased by 5 percent overall. He also praised the commitment of the international students, who now make up 50 percent of the CIT's student body. The dean concluded by congratulating all graduates on their outstanding achievements and also thanked their families for the comprehensive support.
TUM President Thomas Hofmann congratulated the graduates on their graduation, also emphasized how proud TUM was of its high proportion of international students and encouraged all graduates to keep in touch with their alma mater. In the subsequent celebrations for the Professional Profiles Electrical and Computer Engineering, Informatics, and Mathematics, the respective Academic Program Directors welcomed their graduates and bid them farewell personally with a handshake and a small gift. Award ceremonies and graduate speeches rounded off the two-hour program in the lecture halls before guests were invited to a champagne reception.
After the official part, graduates took advantage of the popular photo walls to take souvenir photos with family and friends and enjoyed burgers, pasta and drinks from the food trucks. DJ Gigi and live band “Gerry & Gary” created a lively atmosphere, and the celebrations and dancing continued until midnight.
