Application Process and Deadlines
Step 1: Internal Application to CIT for Nomination
Deadline: Wednesday, January 7, 2026, 23:59pm CET

- Short, concise letter of motivation, including IROP Research Labs
- Curriculum vitae
- Study progress plan
- Transcript of records/grade report
Step 2: Nomination at Imperial College London
After nomination by the subject area Informatics at the TUM School of Computation, Information and Technology (CIT), the IROP coordination team will ask you to upload specific documents to the IROP online form in order to carry out the project matching process. The application documents must be submitted in English and include:
- Statement of motivation
- Research areas/labs of interest
- Your motivation for participating in the IROP program
- Curriculum vitae and transcript of records
- Five supervisors of your choice with whom you would like to work on a research project
As described in step 2, you can name five supervisors of your choice with whom you would like to work on a research project. You can find potential supervisors on the Computing Department website. You may only name researchers who belong to the department at Imperial College London for which you have been nominated. The online biography of each researcher indicates whether they are based at the South Kensington or White City Campus. Please do not contact any researchers.
Imperial College London's project matching usually takes place in February. You will be contacted once the matching process is complete.
