Santa Claus delivers his presents on Christmas Eve with breathtaking speed. In a mysterious parallel world - the Twistor World - a new Twistor Santa has just been recruited, and we need to explain to him how to work as fast as our Santa. The problem: In the Twistor World, the laws of physics are completely twisted.
To solve this problem, we present a formula for the Twistor D-module associated with Kummer's hypergeometric differential equation. Here, an abstract form of the usual Fourier transform is essential. The theory of Twistor D-modules, developed roughly 15 years ago, connects complex analysis with the theory of differential equations and algebraic geometry.
TopMath Talks
As part of the TopMath talks, TopMath students and doctoral students present parts of their research. They provide an understandable insight into their current area of interest, enabling students and staff from different research fields to broaden their mathematical background knowledge. The talks are open to the public and last about an hour, followed by discussion. You are cordially invited!
