International Studies

Discovering other cultures, learning the language by speaking with locals, making international contacts, and broadening your horizons are just some of the ways you can benefit from international exchanges. What's more, experience gained abroad is a definite advantage when you later enter professional life. The TUM School of Computation, Information and Technology (CIT) offers a wide range of options to integrate foreign experience into your studies – whether through an exchange, an internship abroad, an international thesis, a short stay, or a double degree. Attend challenging specialist courses and get to know the higher education systems in other countries.
The Technical University of Munich (TUM) is part of a global network and has exchange agreements with over 300 partner universities around the world. Home to some 15,000 students, the TUM School of CIT is an attractive and open-minded host institution for students from all nations. The large number of English-language courses on offer and a personal support program help international students during their exchange or full-time studies to easily find their way at TUM whether on the Garching Research Campus or the Munich city campus.

Exchange Students
Incomings

If you are enrolled at one of our partner universities, you can spend one to two semesters studying at CIT thanks to an exchange agreement. At CIT, you will find a wide range of specialist English courses, and we will advise you individually and on the specific subjects in your planned course of study.

Double Degree
A double degree allows eligible students to obtain a degree from TUM and a partner university without having to complete the respective curricula twice. We advise our students on their plans and support students from abroad.

Mentoring
Have you just arrived at TUM from abroad? Or do you want to help international students get started at TUM? Join the mentoring programs in the subject areas of Electrical and Computer Engineering, Informatics, or Mathematics.

Full-time Studies
Whether you are thinking about studying at TUM, planning a stay, seeking advice, or want to know about student life in Munich, we advise full-time international students who intend to earn a degree at TUM.
