Until October 15, Mathematics master's students can apply for the Department of Mathematics and Mathematical Statistics (MMS) Internship Programme at Umeå University. Gain valuable real-world experience and contribute to cutting-edge research in the field of mathematics and statistics!

What is Offered?

  • Research project with supervision by a researcher at the department
  • Duration: usually one semester (shorter stays may be considered individually)
  • Location: Umeå, Sweden
  • Financial support:
    • Travel costs (round-trip, economy class) are covered.
    • Additionally, students may apply for an Erasmus+ scholarship through their home university.
  • Workplace, necessary work equipment, and insurance are provided.
  • MMS also assists with housing applications (accommodation costs remain the student’s responsibility).

  • Who can apply? primarily graduate (master’s) students in the subject area Mathematics
  • Application period: September 15 to October 15, 2025
  • Application via online form
  • Required details: preferred period, project, supervisor, and a short description of the planned activities
  • Selection: Applications are reviewed by a departmental committee, final decisions are confirmed by the Head of Department.
