I Missed the Application Deadline in January - What Can I Do?
During the year, students can also contact the Team Student Exchange after the application deadline (beginning of January), if they can provide a reasonable justification why they missed the deadline. You must be aware that a possible subsequent application is an exception and that spots at particularly popular destinations (e.g. ETH, KTH) are already taken.
Such requests mean a lot of extra work for us. It is possible that we will not be able to accept late applications.
Therefore, we strongly recommend that you adhere to the deadline. If you apply later, you must submit the same documents as for the regular procedure.
My Master's only Starts in the Summer Semester - What Can I Do?
Since the Master's degree programs in Computer Science and Information Systems can also be started in the summer semester, it is not possible for students who have obtained a Bachelor's degree at a different university than TUM to meet the deadline at the beginning of January at TUM.
We are aware of this particular situation and would like to point out explicitly that there may still be remaining spots for the summer semester - your third TUM semester! We can only nominate you once you have earned your first TUM grades in the summer semester (first MSc semester). You should apply by mid-June.
Please note that our partner universities start their semesters much earlier than TUM, i.e. especially for Northern European universities an exchange in the 'spring semester' (January to May) is difficult or usually not possible. Think about a stay abroad in your 4th MSc semester, for which you can regularly apply in the following winter semester. You can find further planning tips on our website Mobility Window.
Please contact Marlene Radinger as soon as possible at the start of the summer semester to discuss your plans and other alternatives.
