Our Offer

Deepen your knowledge, review the material, clarify questions: Our vacation courses are ideal for all those who want to prepare for exams during the semester break or need an introduction to software for mathematicians. Vacation courses are an additional offer that we finance from study grants – they are not mandatory.

There are one-day revision courses for some larger Bachelor lectures shortly before the respective exam. The courses repeat the material already taught and supplement your exam preparations. Depending on demand, we also offer two- to four-day courses before the respective review exams. With regard to the oral exam Mathematical Foundations, there is a three-day preparatory course that familiarizes you with the exam procedure. In addition, we offer introductions to software such as LaTeX or tools in the field of optimization.

Three-day course: Mathematical Foundations

Please note that this course in held in German.

For many students, the Fundamentals Exam (MA0007) is a completely new situation since it is given orally. The goal of this course is to prepare students for these challenges as well as possible and to repeat the most important contents from analysis and linear algebra.

When and where?

This course will be held September 4 to 6, 2023 in room MI 00.07.014 and MI 00.09.022.

During the vacation course, you will work a lot in small groups of two to three students. We therefore ask you to find a person for the group work in advance. The course will take place.

Course material

Please find the course material on the page of the vacation course Mathematical Foundations.

Participation only makes sense if you have studied the material sufficiently beforehand. Please note: Participation in the course does not replace independent exam preparation.

Four-day course: Introduction to the Implementation of Optimal Control Problems with PDEs

The aim of this course is to review important contents of the course Linear Algebra and Discrete Structures 2 by means of short repetitions and selected exercises. Since the course is held in German, the information is only available in German.
