Dr. Konstantin Riedl, a former mathematics doctoral student at the Technical University of Munich (TUM), receives the Doctoral Award of the Friends of TUM e.V. This prize is given for outstanding doctoral theses at TUM and recognizes Riedl’s dissertation as one of the best across the entire campus.

Ludwig-Prandtl-Straße on the Garching research campus is now called Anna-Boyksen-Straße. The renaming was decided by the Garching City Council and implemented with the timetable change of the Münchner Verkehrs- und Tarifverbund (MVV). It stands for historical responsibility and diversity in science.

Ingo Weber, Professor of Information System Development and Operation at the TUM School of Computation, Information and Technology, has won two Test-of-Time Awards within a short period of time. He received the awards for two influential papers published in 2015 and 2016.

A new method developed by the Technical University of Munich speeds up the diagnosis of urinary tract infections: antibiotic resistance is detected directly from urine. Testing is up to 24 hours faster than before and forms the basis for future at-home rapid tests.
